Application Procedures/Information for Prospective Students

Application for admission to undergraduate programs in Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University is online and centralized through Student Services. For information on programs and application procedures, prospective students should visit the Student Services website.

Admission deadline for the Fall 2011 semester is April 30, 2011.

Admission

Direct entry from high school

Admission requirements to the Faculty of Health Sciences are the same as the general admission requirements to SFU. Students who are applying to the BSc in Health Sciences must also pass Math 12 with at least 70%. Health Sciences BSc students are also required to take first year Biology, first year Chemistry, and first year Physics as part of their required curriculum. For this reason it is strongly recommended that applicants complete Grade 12 Biology, Grade 12 Chemistry, and Physics 11.

Transfer from other BC colleges

It is recommended that students who plan on transferring to a Bachelor's program in Health Sciences from a college in British Columbia should take the following courses prior to the transfer:

1. Introduction to Statistics

2. Human Biology

3. Introduction to Sociology or Introduction to Anthropology

Entry from other provinces

FHS Prerequisite Waiver Request Form

This form is to be used when students want to enrol in a course for which they have not met the prerequisite or co-requisite requirements. It does not constitute permission to enrol in a closed course or permission to add a course once the term has begun. The approved waiver is not a guarantee of a space in the course.
