Thesis Option
Instead of a master’s project, students may elect to complete a master’s thesis. Students electing this option must obtain approval from their supervisor and the graduate program director to insure that they are able to meet FHS thesis requirements.
Students electing this option should enroll in HSCI 898 Master’s Thesis, and continue to enroll in this course until the thesis is completed and successfully defended, as described under the Graduate General Regulations 1.9 and 1.10. Thesis students must complete a practicum. Note that thesis students will complete 49 credit hours which includes core course and concentration requirements, and the thesis (HSCI 898-6).
Before commencing research leading to the master’s thesis, all students must prepare and successfully defend a thesis research proposal before their supervisory committee and obtain relevant ethics, biosafety, and experimental animal handling approvals, as necessary.
